I don't think any of those rises to the level of an actual crisis that required constant attention to resolve. And Obama acknowledged each of the incidents, something Trump doesn't always do.
Regarding who's playing golf more often, Trump is on a pace to more than double Obama over 8 years (assuming he is reelected). To quote from your own source from Newsweek:
"Obama played a total of 333 rounds of golf in his eight-year presidency. That averages out to about 41 rounds per year. But, again, Trump's actual number of rounds played is likely significantly higher."
"A Washington Post analysis in November—around the time Trump's last lull in golf outings ended—noted that in a month-to-month comparison Trump has nearly always played far more golf than Obama and that his average time between rounds was lower than his predecessor."
Obama never faced a crisis like the one Trump is facing now, but he also didn't downplay problems when they came up. Since the CDC first warned us about COVID-19, Trump called it a "Democrat hoax", held 9 campaign rallies (that may have infected dozens), and played golf 6 times before finally being convinced that this was really a national emergency - and even then he has fighting it because he doesn't believe in science. He told us it would go away once the weather got warmer - based on what? There's no evidence that this is seasonal. He told us we had 15 cases that would quickly go to zero; we have tens of thousnads of cases and over 3000 deaths, and now he's saying he thinks 200,000 deaths would be a "win".
This is the man you think is providing you with information and transparency? He has no idea what he's doing or talking about. This is what happes when you take a life-long con artist and force him to deal with reality. |
