Somehow, Jared Kushner has become involved in the government's response to COVID-19, despite the fact that he has ZERO experience in any of this and has not accomplished the other tasks he's been given.
Yesterday, he said the following about the Strategic National Stockpile:
"The notion of the federal stockpile was it's supposed to be our stockpile. It's not supposed to be the state's stockpile that they then use."
Last night, this is what the HHS website had to say:
"The Strategic National Stockpile is the nation's largest supply of life-saving pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for use in a public health emergency severe enough to cause local supplies to run out.
When state, local, tribal and territorial responders request federal assistance to support their response efforts, the stockpile ensures that the right medicines and supplies get to those who need them most during an emergency."
Pretty straight-forward, right? What's that? The mission statement doesn't agree with the president's son-in-law? No problem, we'll just change the mission statement.
Here's what the website says now:
"The Strategic National Stockpile's role is to supplement state and local supplies during public health emergencies. Many states have product stockpiles as well."
There, all better now. God forbid that anyone in the Trump family ever admitted making a mistake. |
