I agree...if we want to send people to college for free, free health care, let's turn into the European way and everything is free, and taxes are like 40% of your income. I would like to see 2-year junior colleges or apprenticeships free (14 years of school), but Universities should be paid for by the student. If they take up the first 2 years in a Junior college, then 2 years in a University for their bachelor, it's not overwhelming, and stay in state for reduced tuition. Taxpayers are already footing the bill for public schools grades K-12, even when you have no children. It's enough already. Scholarships, grants, and other programs are out there if the student looks for them to help pay their tuition and books. |
