What shenanigans by Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State? The ones that Republican leaders wanted people to believe happened as a political move to harm her bid for President? If you're thinking about Benghazi, from what I could find, there were more than 20 different investigations into that incident, none of which came up with any wrongdoing on her part. BTW, unlike many in Trump's inner circle lately, she voluntarily cooperated, including appearing at one day's hearing for 11 hours of questioning. Politifact came up with this summation:
"The investigations did not suggest that Clinton was personally responsible for or could have prevented the attack."
But it was a very convenient exercise (at the cost of somewhere around $7 million) to vilify her and keep her name out there in what became a negative context during an election year. There were constant references to "Benghazi", without any specifics or substantiation. The innuendo became so strong, that for folks like Kevin McCarthy (who all but admitted it was politically motivated), it became like a one-word epithet. We kept hearing "Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi..." It clearly had the desired effect because of the constant repetition, even though there was no real 'there' there...
And for what it's worth, Hillary's approval rating as Secretary of State was in excess of 65% - extremely rare for any political figure. Whatever one might have thought about her as a Presidential candidate should have been based on her policies and actual suitability - not misleading innuendo and disinformation.
