The fourteenth amendment says that the State may not “deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws”. That is a constitutionally protected right to life, not to be forfeited without due process of law. It’s right there plain as day.
Let the voters decide next election. As I said, I believe there are a lot that are happy this passed and will not come forward in fear of retaliation. I will agree there is going to be a whole lot of people on welfare, and back-alley abortions, so that is the consequence. They still will have abortions, you just have to travel to get there. What is a trip compared to 19 years? Maybe next time they will be more protective of contraceptives. People have to remember and thank their lucky stars their mother didn't abort them. Also, a plus is that people who really want a child won't have to travel out of the country for one.
