I have no idea why he took the documents or what he was planning to do with them. He's the only one who can answer those questions.
A setup is unlikely - that goes back to his first claim that the FBI "planted" the documents that were seized, which he immediately proved false by demanding them back.
Every excuse since then has basically been throwing spaghetti against the wall to see if it sticks. "They went through my closets!" Yes they did, and guess where they found some of the stolen documents? "They went through my son's bedroom!" Yes they did - they had a legal warrant authorizing them to search the entire residence, and his son's bedroom is part of the residence. "They broke open my safe!" Yes they did, the warrant allowed them to do so.
With all of these excuses, there has never been a denial that he had documents that he wasn't authorized to have. |
