06/22: US gave an "Additional $314 Million...Venezuela..."
Posted by Moneyman/TX of TX on 10/8/22 2:59pm Msg #81785
This info is offered for clarification.

http://www.state.gov/additional-314-million-for-u-s-humanitarian-response-to-the-venezuela-regional-crisis/

As the official government press release states, this is "Additional" money, meaning, we have previously given money for/to the same cause. This money is specifically earmarked to help people who are escaping the situation in Venezuela.

"The 48 people who were flown to Martha’s Vineyard in mid-September were Venezuelans who had crossed the southwest border without authorization", i.e. Illegal Aliens. tinyurl.com/3yw6ktxu

If someone illegally enters the country, then have contact with Border Patrol (either by seeking them out or are discovered by them), even IF they make a claim for asylum, until their status is determined by the courts, they are not in the U.S. "legally", as some believe. Under the "Biden-Harris" administration, they may automatically be allowed to remain in the U.S., but that is not the same as someone being here "legally".

What many people seemed to never understand was the Trump didn't do away with the asylum seeking process, as the media and the left would have had everyone believe. Rather, his Administration's policy was that persons seeking asylum had to
1) enter the U.S. at a legal border crossing/entry point (which would constitute a legal entry)
and
2) upon entering the U.S. immediately inform Border Officials of their desire to request asylum.
If someone illegally entered the country by means other than an official legal entry point (i.e. illegally) and were caught, or attempted to seek out Border Officials so they could make a claim of seeking asylum, their claim would not be viewed as a valid claim for asylum.
Gee, who would have thought that the concept of making people seeking to enter the country do so at a legal border crossing/entry point would ever be seen as "inhumane" as the left and media spoon fed their take on the policy to the American public?

The "Biden-Harris" Administration changed that policy and has promoted one that basically sends the message "Screw that! Come one, come all -- Regardless of how you enter the country, once here, you can stay!", thus the real, and ignored by this administration, issues we have experienced along the southern border since he/they have taken office.

Just a reminder, we, the U.S., already allows 1M+ (true) immigrants legally (legal aliens) in the country each year via our legal immigration policies and procedures. This is above the millions of illegal aliens, that we know of, that the "Biden-Harris" Administration has admitted so far. That number does not include the estimated millions of "get-aways" that the Border Patrol were not able to capture/stop.
