There have been many in the past that have ignored them. The difference is that Congress rarely exercised its right to hold them in contempt, until recently. But, as you said, the recent Congress seems to have set the example and the very bar that, going forward, all those who would ignore such subpoenas should be judged by. Truth be told, they should have been doing it all along, regardless of political party in charge or ignoring them.
