You don't think it's probable that after all the hubbub about that inaccurate announcement that he or his staff didn't remove the misstatement(s)?

Actually, from the Snopes article (which includes a link to a screen shot of the original page with the incorrect news release), it appears that the reality lies somewhere in the middle. He was likely not even aware of the post at the time. However, if it wasn't for his history of fabrications, it would very likely have gone unacknowledged, as was apparently the case for some others who experienced the same mishap.

BTW, this took me just a minute or so to check out...
