I have to have sturdy keyboards. Before ergonomic keyboards, I’ve killed keyboards in a couple of months and used as examples of what not to do with a keyboard. As I mentioned earlier I am a hard typist and pound the keys from learning to type on the old Remington and Underwood manual typewriters, then typing on an Addressograph, a monster machine that made credit cards, then working for a woman who didn’t believe in dictation, but instead sat in front of you talking 90 to nothing for 2-4 hours or more at a time and having to type everything she said. The good side was that she didn’t wait for you to catch up, so my typing speed went from 100 to 120 wpm, which it still is today. I love my touch screen on my SurfacePro, and from habit, find myself touching my desktop and MacPro screens which do nothing. |
