this has turned me into the Grinch.
If you look at history, you'll realize the pagans celebrated the Winter Solstice with colored lights, gifts, etc.
The Christians started celebrating the Birth of Christ to counter-act all that. Jesus wasn't born this time of year.
It's just a push for emotional spending. (See I told you I was a Grinch now).
Also, saying Happy Holidays has been around ever since I can remember. It referred to Christmas & New Years.
It isn't anti-Christmas like everyone is making it out to be. |
