Hi... I read your posting with interest and as such, wrote Ray Lewis an e-mail in response. I signed up with this company several months ago. While they've never used my services, I felt compelled by your posting to write him. The fact that he pays his notaries trip fees out of "kindness and professionalism" really struck a nerve with me. I cover 6 Parishes in Louisiana, and my driving time could exceed and has exceeded one and a half hours, one-way. Taking this into consideration, a signing could take as long as 4 hours, or more.... time that could be alotted for signings closer to home that I may have turned down because of the conflict in my schedule. I'm sure that most notaries do not work for the "kindness or professionalism" of their contracted companies... I know I don't. I do this full-time and if I'm taking out half my day to take a signing, I at least expect to be paid half of my fee, without a hassle. I think posts like yours are beneficial to the notary community in weeding out the undesirables... and I, for one, appreciate your information... Thank you, Ninna |
