Why use MS Office at all, ever? Even the one-time charge is outrageous --but an annual $99? One should avoid subsidizing MS whenever possible --and paying for MS Office at any level is subsidizing MS.
As mentioned, Open Office, Libre are two free alternatives; there are even more. WPS by Kingsoft is another very interesting alternative.
Frankly, the best office suite ever designed was StarOffice 5.2 (which evolved into the poorer renditions of OpenOffice). A genius of design. I still use it in Windows10, reverting to OO when necessary. |
