Since vendor management companies took over national closings for national lenders, fees paid to notaries have declined dramatically. Face it that very good, professional notaries are willing to work for VMCs and that they are closing loans to the satisfactory of the lenders. Some of the same notaries who closed $150 loans for Service Link in 2003 are now doing loans for $68. SL has not gone out of business and has actually gotten bigger.
We all have to decide what we are willing to do & for how much. Just accept the fact that the business has changed & for some, $68 (or $75 etc) is more that some are paid for sitting at home watching General Hospital or Star Trek reruns.
Some who are reading this may be taking the $68 jobs, while others are too busy to post on NR every day. |
