mirrors that of rengel: "My policy is that I get paid my trip fee whether I notarize anything or not."
It's a component of the confirmation aspect of the signing engagement (i.e., do they have the proper ID, etc.).
NOTE: My time & travel fee I refer to as the Service Fee. It's nomenclature that most are familiar with (in my current region of the US) as opposed to a term we commonly utilize (trip fee).
In these types of scenarios where there is the potential to experience a 'wait' period, I also mention (as LKT does) that there is a wait fee after a specified number of minutes (based upon the service fee quoted) in increments of 15 minutes. Like LKT, in nearly every instance, a 'workaround' is designed into the appointment by the signer to ensure that my time is honored or there is remuneration due to the delay. |
