There are several well-respected and experienced professional members (Luckydog, Karla/OR, jimta, Stoli, etc.) that stated (on JS_MD's previous thread for this SS - Msg #580561 ) that they've always had positive experiences with Ron Raynor.
This could be another one of those business entities that "manages" their Accounts Payable based upon region saturation or some factors or variables that are unknown to us. We've seen a few business entities that place themselves in this category (CNSAs either rate 5-star or 1-star - usually based on payment conditions).
Regarding my personal experience, I've only worked with Ron once (21FEB14) and I was uncertain at that time about payment due to some of the reviews/ratings. I mentioned it to him at the time I was considering accepting the signing engagement from Ron Raynor. I received the check for that signing on 12MAR14. The subsequent persistent 1-star reviews have only increased concerns for payment of my services. 
Sometimes it's simply a judgement call . . .
