"Demand that your documentation package is sent to you and and you find your own notary. If there are 4 documents in the package that need to be notarized the most that a notary can charge is fixed by the State you live in, In California the most that a notary can charge is $10 per signature. In many other states its a lot less."
Well, this may just become a trend.
I had three assignments this past week where docs were sent directly to borrower and/or seller from title and from lender and I was called to do the notarizations.
I like these as there is no sitting waiting for docs, no printing, no faxbacks, no courier service, just plain 'ol notarizations and they pay well and you are paid on the spot.
One set of docs came from none other than TS. Had this been run through an SS, the charge would have been much more than what I charged, so yes, in some circumstances, I hope this trend catches on. It is a definite money-maker. |
