Can you go to Pine Mountain (remote mountain second home getaway, no cell service along the way, curvy and dangerous mountain roads with no call boxes, no lighted areas). Last time I went there, my fee was $500 to sign docs before midnight/rate lock issue.
Then there is the statement, it's only 1.2 miles from your office. How do you figure that, as the crow flies? Well, I'm no crow and the 101 on a Friday after 3pm, forget about it. Not getting out there with all the tourists, weekend visitors and people trying to get home after a long work week.
