His wife Ann phoned me with the news at 11:30 Central time last night. I was almost speechless and stuned. Yet I was affraid that this was coming. His last personal email to me was on May 4. I am posting it here as a pure copy and paste. He and shared one other thing. We both served in US Navy. In part, I believe it was Tricor that let him down. But please, no one take Tricor to task on this, he wouldn't want that. Here is that email:
Hi Art,
No, things have not be well. I'm fighting pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis, coupled with my pre-existing heart disease. Drugs have me really under the weather, no gumption, no appetite, everything tastes like crap and my BP is way too low. How low? You ask. How about 74/54. That's right, seventy four, not a misprint.
I've completely stopped doing closings and general notary work because of all this.
I've already notified the undertaker. <grin>
Now a new wrinkle. My primary care doctor takes my insurance (TriCare Prime), but the hospital he is affiliated with, and other doctors do not. How is he suppose to treat me? (All this changes in 4 months. Medicare will be primary and TriCare will be secondary. Then I can go see whoever I want.)
Stay healthy. Anything else just isn't worth it. LOL!!
