You have a ten page Doc to notarize, the Ack is on the last page (page 10) and the Doc has been stapled by Atty (or Paralegal) in advance of your arrival.....The Docs are signed in front of you and then, the client also signs the last page (page 10) by mistake.

<<<1. Do you fill out a new Ack and attach it to the ten pages you have making it eleven pages?>>>

Yes, I carry a stapler and staple remover and will remove the staple, add my Ack and staple the pages back together. I don't just staple my Ack to an already stapled packet. I'm great at lining up the stapler with the old holes so the packet doesn't look like staples were ever removed.

<<<2. Do you correct the original Ack and initial?>>>

NO, if I am not using the notarial cert included, and it has errors - because it is either non-compliant or the client mistakenly filled it out or signed it, I line thru it with a note "See attached CA compliant Ack". From working with various atty generated docs, it's been my experience that they do not like messy docs (i.e. strike thru's or anything lined out)

3. Atty wants to email you another Ack (which is slightly different than yours but the fonts will match the other pages) and send it back later so the mistake will be replaced with your signature?

NO. I must have the original package in hand, remove the staple and replace my original cert with the one he emailed me, staple it back together and then we're good. But absolutely would not print atty email cert (with it's fancy fonts), complete it and mail or fax it to him/her......wouldn't do that. Hopefully, his/her office is local - or the client has the packet - and I can swing by and take care of it. Otherwise, the original packet must be FedEx'd or mailed to me.

NOTE: It is NOT a new notarization (i.e. witnessing client signature) when the only change is the doc recipient wants the ack/jurat to match (font or paper color) the original packet. However, switching out the old for the new requires the original packet be IN HAND.
