I think real estate agents/brokers are generally at more risk that we as NSAs are. Especially in the more rural areas. Here in Colorado there are many ‘mountain properties and horse properties, often on unpaved roads, and in the forests and are semi-isolated...many times these properties are un-occupied, and showing one, or meeting a prospective buyer at one could be a problem; as are holding ‘open houses’ all day at one of these type of (or really any) properties...There have been cases where someone will come in look around, then watch and wait until there are no others around, then come back, or call and ask to see the property later in the evening...This HAS happened. A 110 lb woman has little chance against a 200 lb (deranged) man in an empty house on a deserted rural road. Your rape-whistle will do little good. AND there is a difference between being ‘fearful’ and being prepared...They say we are all in God’s hands...but they also say God helps those that help themselves. |
