I agree with Belinda/CA and NVLSlady/VA. That goes way beyond normal "scope of work". It should have been disclosed in advance so the job could be negotiated appropriately. Supplies are one thing, but even more importantly, the time it would take to get through that many pages is probably equivalent to doing two signings. If a company wouldn't agree to a substantial fee adjustment for that big of a package, I'd have no qualms about giving it back.
If enough notaries go along quietly with companies who expect extra work without compensation, then it's just an invitation for them to try to take advantage of everyone. Understand your worth, people, and don't let yourselves be intimidated into putting up with this type of abuse! You'll be glad you did. |
