Thank you all, you all validated my feelings incredibly well. If he does not want my money or is trying to force me to take the Elite test; I am just not biting down on it. I really am too busy to jump through every hoop for every company that wanted testing, upon testing. If I did that, I would never have time to go out and do closings for which my window of time has decreased. I have been doing this long enough to where I am just plain fed up that we continually on one hand have to justify our fees and existence, and then on the other get treated as if we are the most meaningless part of the whole process with some companies. There is a closing process, while we may be only a part, we are still important to that process. My standard and livelihood does not depend upon JB. It depends on only one person, me. That began long before 2005 when I signed up for a profile.....way, way back when the MayFlower landed :-) I don't know everything, but I do know how to educate myself and there is a plethora of free learning out on the Google machine that I don't ever have to pay for. Over the years, I have asked questions of Lenders, Title Companies, other more experienced Signing Agents (here at this very awesome site!), read real estate, lender, title forums, political changes in terms of Wall Street and the banking laws, privacy laws, read about legal cases pertaining to our industry, and so on....all this is free JB!!!
The work I do speaks of my knowledge, competency, professionalism, dedication and service to this industry and I am very proud to be among such great Signing Agents here. I also work now as a municipal clerk treasurer. You have no idea how my knowledge of the closing process has helped my role there and vice versa at the closing table in terms of tax requirements, deadlines, escrowing etc.....I will always learn and stretch my skills, I just don't believe all of it has to be proven according to someone else's desire to profit from my hard work just to put my name on a website. I don't wait for anyone to come to me; I still go out and promote my services. Promoting our services and SEO optimization has become easier and easier over the years; I am sure we can figure that one out on our own too! |
