What are you able to bring to the notary "profession"? You no doubt had a good reason for wanting to obtain your notary commission (and congrats for meeting the high standards for CA!).
To attract business, be Attractive . . . professional, courteous, diligent, knowledgeable. Much of it is about Presentation. Think about how you will present yourself to the community (on and off the forum); so some questions for you:
Have you . . .
1. Completed your NR marketing profile so others can find you?
2. Established a marketing or service area (do you know how many notaries are in your location?)?
3. Researched and acquired information on notarial practice (look here and through notary Associations - but MOST importantly, YOUR HANDBOOK)
4. Established an area of expertise (which documents will you specialize in: autos, estate planning, wills, loans, travel, minors, etc.)? Once you narrow your focus and REASON for choosing a particular community to serve, you will be able to "find a way to get in" because you have a Mission to help.
5. Obtained Business Cards?
