In the past, I've received tips for GNW; however, this was a first for an in-house signing.
The sellers were such a sweet couple who had driven a couple of hours to attend the signing at my client's office.
At the completion of the assignment, the husband said something to his wife. I wasn't sure what he stated; however, she reached into her purse and attempted to give me money. I told both of them that it was not necessary and tried to refuse it, in addition to letting them know that my fee was covered in the closing statement. Needless to say, I gladly accept their token of gratitude, as I didn't want to insult them any further.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you handle it? |
