Great story, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I too have received eggs, walnuts, lemons, oranges, bottles of wine, tomatoes, zucchini, onions, cuttings from succulents, which I have collected for years.
The presents are an expression of deep appreciation for our services. Twice I've been "mandated" to spend the night at borrowers' homes because weather was too threatening for me to be out late at their request (heavy fog or snow).
I meet some of the greatest people who walk this earth, for which I'm eternally grateful. (And, by the way, some of the other greatest people I've met are right here on this forum. THANK YOU, GOD!) |
