an electronic request for a Birth Certificate, for instance. There's too much potential for fraud/identity theft. Here in VA a notary could notarize an application for a Birth Certificate, but otherwise we can't deal with any vital records--birth certificates, death certificates, etc. Those have to come from the state, and we aren't authorized to make certified copies either.
