. . . I have my first fully electronically notarized loan closing tomorrow . . . not an e-sign, not a hybrid, not a single piece of paper was printed, not a single wet signature involved, no pens, no paper, and I don't even use my regular notary stamp . . . I use my digital image of my stamp that was created especially for me by my electronic platform I chose to use . . . everything will be electronic. I have been reading all the gloom and doom on the boards but I am not letting myself go down that road . . . not yet anyway. Yes everything is going to be done electronically, but there still needs to be a closer present to look at their identifications, review their electronic loan package with them, show them where to sign electronically, and notarize electronically. I do not think this industry is quite ready for total automation as some might think. I may be wrong . . . Like when I told Linda last year that the sky was falling when she told us we would be performing totally electronic closings sooner rather than later. I went kicking and screaming all the say there . . . but I'm here now and I am going to do whatever it takes to keep doing what I love to do. |
