The scammer/spammers are constantly changing up their game(s) and it looks like this is one more thing to keep on our radar. It makes me cringe, however, that the general public could very easily be caught up in this stuff.
All these operations (including the so-called 'legit' ones) seem to just skim over the technical details regarding how IDs are to be verified and how that info and people's documents will be kept secure. This is also the case for the proposed RON bill pending before the CA legislature. That's a critically important detail, and I'm not yet convinced that today's technology is up to the task. |
