The only ones banned are those who do not have a reason to come here - family, job, school, etc.
But here's a few questions - it's a temporary 90-day ban that was originally issued 150 days ago for the purpose (so they claimed) of reviewing vetting procedures. In that time, there were no terrorist incidents here involving anyone from one of those countries, just as was the case BEFORE the ban was imposed.
Assuming the administration didn't want to start the 90-day clock until a ban was in place, does that mean they did NOTHING to review vetting procedures during that time? They wanted 90 days, they got 150 days so far, and we're no closer to a "solution"? If so, just how important was this review in the first place?
Regardless, a ban is now in place and the clock starts. SCOTUS does not hear cases again until mid-October - more than 90 days from now. Wouldn't that make the ban moot? |
