This morning, AG Sessions announced that DACA was being terminated, in part because it was unconstitutional, adding that Congress had 6 months to fix the problem before it was terminated completely. Sarah Huckleberry Sanders vigorously defended this position during the press conference today.
This evening, President Trump tweeted that if Congress fails to get something done about DACA within 6 months, he would revisit the issue.
If you're killing the program because it's unconstitutional, what is there to revisit? It's not going to suddenly become constitutional just because you're having second thoughts.
He keeps sending his staff out to say things and then cutting them off at the knees.
Aside: Sanders referred to Trump as "President Obama" once; she corrected herself when the press corps reacted. She then almost repeated the mistake a few minutes later but managed to catch herself before she said the full name. And she was reading from a prepared text both times. |
