What does anything about Clinton have to do with the fact that this woman plagiarized large sections of a book she wrote? How is that politically motivated?

Plagiarism is anything but trivial and unimportant, especially on such a large scale and when committed by someone passing themselves off as a subject-matter expert. It's intellectually lazy and dishonest and calls into question whether this person actually knows what she's talking about.
