"A sneak uses third party to leak memos to NYT only."
You can't "leak" stuff that isn't either classified or privileged. Revealing your own impressions of a conversation, as a private citizen, is perfectly legal no matter how you do it. Comey's explanation - "I didn't want to feed the sea gulls", which is understandable given the way the press jumps on this stuff.
What Comey did was not illegal and was not a "leak". The Trump camp, and his hack lawyer Kasowitz, are trying to redefine what he did as somehow illegal. Kasowitz says he's going to file complaints with the DOJ and the Senate Intelligence Committee, but that's been his MO for years - threaten to sue, but then don't follow through with it.
As for Trump testifying under oath, it will probably never happen unless SCOTUS steps in. The last time Trump was deposed under oath, he was caught in about 30 lies and lost the case. |
