EO's themselves were never the issue; illegal acts were/are
Posted by Moneyman/TX of TX on 10/21/17 4:28pm Msg #71100
Regardless of how many times Dems, or anyone on the left, are told, they will continue spreading the lie that Repubs, or anyone on the right, are against all Presidential EO's. No, conservatives don't like governing by EO's or the president taking actions that are illegal/unconstitutional by the use of EO's.

Several actions that Obama took via EO's were unconstitutional, according to the SCOTUS as they decided against him in multiple cases over them. Where were the Dems who knew his actions were not allowed by law when he wrote those EO's? They were right there backing him up, not doing their sworn duty of upholding/protecting the Constitution or doing their jobs representing the people who elected them rather than representing their political party regardless of the constitutionality of the president's actions.

The only reason Trump has been able to do many of the things he has done using EO's is because that is how Obama chose to operate. You can't blame Trump for undoing what Obama did by using EO's. Obama's actions left that option open.

If Trump attempts actions, or to implement policies, via EO's that are illegal/unconstitutional I would hope that Republicans would stand up against them. They have already proven that they refuse to be just a rubber stamp for whatever Trump wants to do (unlike the Dems during Obama's terms). Not everything Trump has claimed he has wanted to do, legislatively, has been wrong, imo.

Just the other day Trump said that the very insurance company's that were supposed to receive the government welfare payments (let's call them what they are) were showing huge profits. That has been widely reported already. My question is, if they are showing profits can someone explain, logically, why it is that they should receive these gov't welfare payments that Trump said he would not authorize? --[oh wait, it has been a day or two and it looks like Trump might actually authorize those payments after all in a deal he wants to make with Dems Frown Who knows where the issue of the payments will end up ]

BTW, according to some of your posts about two or three months ago, most of Trump's EO's haven't really done anything, they have mostly been for show (or something along those lines). If that is the case, why would you think Repubs, or anyone for that matter, should be upset at the number of EO's Trump has written?

I'm just asking as it has become so difficult to keep straight the daily/weekly Trump hysteria turned up to 11 ~issues~ or which opposite side of that same issue we are supposed to be upset about on any given day. Trump changes his mind and focus more than a Magic 8 Ball placed on top of a never ending washing machine, the left is actually helping him by searching for anything they can be 'hair on fire' upset about on a daily basis. They are helping to muddy the waters so much that he is getting a pass on many things that a lot of people might not overlook otherwise.
