1. There is NO LAW that requires that children of immigrants detained at the border be taken from their parents. The only law similar to that is a Bush-era law that mandates that UNACCOMPANIED MINORS arriving at the border should be detained and turned over to the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
I agree, there is no LAW that requires children of immigrants to be separated from their parents. However, there is a law that says crossing our border ILLEGALLY is a crime and you will be detained (JAIL.) So, Mommy and Daddy cross the border illegally and they are sent to jail, pending deportation. What is to be done with the children? Your answer is send them to jail too?
Obama’s answer was if a family shows sup, just open he door and let them in. This resulted in ILLEGAL’s abducting children in their home country and entering as families. Brilliant!
2. The "zero-tolerance" policy that created this mess was issued by AG Sessions and is the sole responsibility of the Trump Administration. The memo announcing this policy can be found at

Please note the third paragraph which clearly states: "This zero-tolerance policy
shall supersede any existing policies." Those existing policies - which Trump falsely blames on the Democrats - contained allowances for those who were not considered dangerous and for families with children. So everything from that point forward, good or bad, is all on Trump.
So what? They are obeying the law!
3. The Trump administration is violating both US and International law by treating those legally seeking asylum as criminals and using that as a pretext to take their children away. Most of the 2,000 children taken to date are children of asylum-seekers, not illegal aliens.
There is a process to declare asylum. Step 1 is to apply for asylum in your home country by going to the US Consulate and applying. You do not show up at the door, cross illegally and just come in.
All of this is nothing more than liberal bull crap. The economy is booming, people are working again, and the people suffering from terminal TDS are scrapping for things to discredit the greatest President in decades.
They complain that Trump is all wrong, but cannot offer an answer to this problem.
