Hello Everyone,
This is Susan from CA, not Susan from NJ.
Seriously, we were evacuated in Lake County at 2:30 am due to a fire in our area, which rapidly spread but is now 70% contained. Our home is not burned, but they are not letting people in just yet due to high winds and the possibility that it could travel toward us. We tried to get our four cats but they freaked out and we had to leave. When we opened the door, we could see the flames. Thank goodness a friend who refused to evacuate was able to get in and feed our cats for us and is keeping an eye on them.
As for the place I lived for 23 years-Santa Rosa in Sonoma County-there are places that are devastated. My condo was not harmed and it still standing, but whole neighborhoods and historical landmarks are gone. Just like that. 6 deaths confirmed as well.
Would all my notary cohorts please throw out a little notary good-luck dust to Lake and Sonoma counties?
On the upside, Sunshine Signing Connection called me today to do a closing tomorrow just a few blocks from me. The fee was $50, so I would have had to counter-offer if all was normal, but I told her about the fires and let her know she would most likely not find a notary up here that could do it because of evacuations. After this, they put it out on Snapdocs, buy nobody has been able to take it.
We are safe, talk to you all soon.
