Yes, I got them to pay for mine. But that was many years ago. The last time I just submitted it myself. It was only $100 deductible for a new windshield. The fact they put a sign about it on their trucks says people must have gone after them.
I once had a junk hauling truck drop what appeared to be a rolled up metal bumper. Traffic would not allow me to change lanes so I had to straddle it and did some damage. Accident? Yes. Did I flag the guy down, get his information, write his company and get their insurance to pay for it?Definitely.
I wouldn't expect others to do that but I have no problem. Most trucks have their names and phone numbers on the door. You can write them or give them a call. Doesn't hurt to try.
One of my many hats in my early 20's was 'field chasing' and collections, sometimes re-poing, so I have no fear that way. The stories I could tell...some very entertaining! Can you imagine what I would tell a driver about a sign on the back of his truck? lol |
