I wouldn't take it personally. From the looks of it, myself and other notaries ask for the same info. I want to know what I am getting into before taking on a general notary assignment. It's part of how I quote them a fee for travel, amount of notarizations, possible witness requirements, etc. The divorce settlement signings are usually tense for me as well. I had a couple once that were yelling at each other and the woman threatened to not sign and even attempted to grab the documents from my possession.
