I too just got a big box of N95s. Yes, I read that hospitals will be allowing asymptomatic covid-positive hospital workers to continue working due to staffing shortages, with the hopes that they treat primarily covid-positive patients. Yikes. Possibly canceling elective surgeries.
Cases are starting to hit home for me. My semi-vaccinated brother-in-law is currently recovering from covid. A healthy 58 yr. old, and he got very sick. He was able to remain home as an outpatient and was treated with monoclonal antibody therapy, which helped. He’s still recovering. His daughter called me and said that she was worried he would try to take horse de-wormer. He’ll probably still continue to be anti-mask. He has no plans to continue his vaccination series.
An un-vaccinated cousin was admitted to the hospital in L.I., NY after a fall, and contracted covid during his stay there, and remains there now, with covid.
