You also won't see that 'rule' about more, not less, anywhere in CA notary law. It's a useful guideline, but that's it. It's up to us to determine whether or not an ID is sufficient. Just for my own comfort level, I think I'd ask to see something else that proves the error is on the ID and that they actually do go by the name ini the order on the docs. What name is on their loan statements, utility bills, business cards, work ID, etc.?
I'm not saying any of those things provide "satisfactory evidence", but if that's the only issue and the DL is otherwise valid, some common sense corroboration couldn't hurt. |
