Nancy, the last time I was “SURPRISED” with a 175 page package I contacted the signing service as soon as I saw it (before printing) and explained that my fee for a package this size is $150 (assuming no faxbacks, etc...). If they fuss about it then let them reassign. If they accept it (they always have for me) then make sure they send you a revised confirmation before you print. Also, being in Los Angeles, if I were to see a note about a $25 pay reduction for being late then I would also contact them and let them know that, due to their late policy, coupled with the unpredictable nature of LA traffic, they will need to reassign this signing because my profit isn’t much more than $25 and I cannot risk what little profit I am making for the possibility of something that may be beyond my control. Of course, I would reiterate that I am almost never late but simply cannot accept their terms knowing how LA traffic is.
