From what I've seen advertised on websites for notary training, plus the training I've taken, plus the notary handbooks I've read, the kind of training generally available for notaries just covers notary laws and basic information about real estate documents that need to be notarized. The notary laws and handbooks do not cover wills, that's in a separate section of the law. The notary training usually doesn't cover wills either.
Considering that if there's something wrong with a will, it probably won't be discovered until after the maker dies, and it's too late to fix, I avoid wills. The only way I would consider doing a will is if I was getting specific instructions from the attorney who drew it up. |
