I had a 2nd mortgage yesterday in a 100 plus year old house in Long Beach. The owners told me the house was previously owned by a survivor of the Titanic named Ruth.
They gave me 4 organic artichokes from their garden! Even in these slow times we can all find the silver lining.
Some of my other scores include:
--Spices from a couple who owned a spice company
--A bottle of Tequila, LOL!
--A huge stack of really nice pens
--Blackened catfish lunch from the owners of Johnny Reb's who were refinancing
--Lot's of cups coffee
--A pair of brand new climbing shoes (the owner didn't need them and we were the same size)
--A coffee table (the owner was getting rid of it b/c she was into wood working and made herself a new one!)
