Yep, a fence is nothing and also heard they can climb trees as well. I had an eagle last year making lunch out of a 3' one in my tree outside my window. He was there a few hours trying to rip him apart. They are very tough.
They say FL has more alligators than people, so we have way more than you will ever see, and for the most part keep to themselves, they don't like us as much as we don't like them. I am still in awe though spotting them.
