If someone put a notice somewhere on the internet saying "I found some cash in an envelope marked Cameron Mitchell, contact us if that's your", chances are good that someone named Mitchell Cameron is going to try to claim it, because the information is apt to become widely known, and cash is so anonymous.
Houses are a different story. If a house belongs to Cameron Mitchell, few people are going to know it's a good candidate to be swiped; probably only people in the neighborhood would notice that Mr. Mitchell isn't there very often. What are the chances that someone is able to get a driver license that says Mitchell Cameron, AND is able to get into the house? Of course, if the notary isn't in the house, but rather is conducting a RON closing, the risks just increased. |
