Interesting responses. It is obvious the board is divided with the usual replies. You may be a Professional Notary with years of experience and deserve all of the respect that you earn................but you will loose respect when you decide to come off in a condescending way, rather than giving your recommendations in a TONE that is worthy of your Professional Status.
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM (road goes both ways)
1) The TONE on how one responds to a NEWBIE was the major point on placing this topic on the board. Everyone has a choice to give their advise (i.e. telling a new notary they should know the difference between an acknowledgment and a jurat). One can give critical advise without the condescending remarks. I believe a professional should respond like a professional at all times...............respect is earned................and sometimes all the education in the world cannot teach some individuals that very lesson.
2) Since reading this board for the last 4 months (some may feel that is not long enough........oh well......), I have developed an opinion about a couple of notaries on this board. After reading their many generous posts, the following Professional Notaries continue to come out on top:
a) Sylvia/Florida b) Paul/Florida (PAWS)
Their replies are well thought out...................their tone is never condensending.............even when they give critical advise. Could it be that they choose their words with compassion..........rather than the need to get off with some crude remark? I somehow think that is it.
I will continue to read the Notary Board...................while watching for the first bite.
