the last info we have is from April 22, 2019 that the First Public Hearing on this Bill was cancelled by the author (Calderon), which would allow CA Notaries beginning Jan 2021 to notarize an eSignature and I imagine extend to notarizing eSignings. The State would begin charging for a new Certificate and training to do notarizing eSignatures.
I think many of us are dismayed by this journey into a netherworld of fraud and chicanery that would follow this unwise practice leaving our lives and livelihoods open to an unending river of lawsuits and attacks against our E&O. |
