I agree with you about our private information being listed everywhere on the internet. CA does the same thing here, too, with our personal info being part of public record. (On directories where I advertise, I never list my address where it's publicly accessible - even on Google.) Maybe this could be used as a good reason to prevent that from being the case.
However, I can see how they would want someone to be able to reach a notary if they ever do have an issue with a document that was notarized by that person. Sometimes stuff we notarize DOES end up in court and they need to contact the notary in writing. Just seems like there should be a better way to handle this, as so many of us work from home. |
