This may be more of a question for the state agencies, but I figured I could start here because I'm impatient and don't want to wait until Monday or Tuesday to call.
I am looking into getting my notary license in California, as I have a house with my girlfriend out there. Until July 2020, I had lived there for over 35 years. I am currently spending a few months out here in Arizona, as my parents retired out here, and need help fixing a few things up in their house that they want changed. Both states require you to be a resident of the state to be eligible to apply as a notary in the state.
My question is, since I'm currently splitting my time pretty much 50/50 between California and Arizona, is it possible to be a resident of both states, and hold a notary license in both? Or am I just asking to get fined/jailed for lying to one or both of the states when they decide I'm not really a resident? |
