The current version of SB 228, see page 5 (section 5)....
This would allow regular pen-and-paper notaries to administer oral oaths (for court proceedings and depositions) using audio-video communication technology. The notary would not be required to use a RON service provider.
This also allows for the notarization of "Oaths of Admission to the Florida Bar" by audio-video communication technology.... the problem with this is, there is an oral oath, but also a paper that has to be notarized. (During COVID this has been an issue, and the Fla Supreme Court's suggestion was to have the new attorney MAIL their PAPER OATH to the notary, and then the notary complete the certificate outside the signer's presence..... I just do not like this.
